Cathouse

I made a cathouse for our cat, Lois. Lois is often outside at night, which will be getting cold in the coming weeks and months. This cathouse offers just a little bit of protection from the elements, and has one-inch-thick insulation under the roof as well as on the floor, so she might retain a little heat in there too.

The cathouse is just barely big enough for a cat to get into and turn around in. It tapers at the back to make a cozy space for Lois to back into in very cold weather. The roof is slanted to shed water, but it needs to be painted before the wood will do anything but soak up raindrops.

Also, Lois likes to climb small trees.
